Looking for a way to enter Australia without an employer? The General Skilled Migration program is based on points. Points are based on your age, level of English, qualifications, employment experience, etc. As these visas are invitation based, the higher your point score, the better your chance to be invited for a visa. Currently, you must score at least 65 points in order to be considered however, for many occupations, the threshold point score for invitations is much higher.
We would be pleased to assist you with obtaining this visa. The application process includes the following steps :
Initial points and visa eligibility assessment - The first step that we will take is to conduct an initial assessment of your eligibility for a skilled visa. This involves reviewing your qualifications, work experience, English language and other circumstances, to establish whether or not you are likely to meet the relevant requirements.
As part of this initial eligibility assessment, we will consider which occupation(s) you are likely to be able to nominate, and whether or not you are potentially eligible for a positive skills assessment from the relevant assessing authority for that occupation.
Skills assessment -you will need to apply to a specified Australian assessing authority which will assess your qualifications and work experience. If found suitable, you will be issued a positive skills assessment for the next step. We can help you with your skills assessment. Please contact us for more information.
Expression of Interest Application
Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) – this stage provides preliminary information to the Department of Home Affairs about how you meet the visa requirements. Although you do not need to provide supporting documents at this stage, you MUST be able to provide evidence that the information supplied in the EOI is correct at the time that you are invited to apply for the visa. Therefore, it is very important to that all information submitted in the EOI is correct to ensure that the visa application is not refused.
If you want a State/Territory nomination, the government agency of the State or Territory that you have chosen will review your EOI to determine whether or not you meet their particular criteria for nomination (this includes the requirement that your nominated occupation be included on the skilled occupation list for that State/Territory).
Visa application - Provided you meet all relevant requirements, including State/Territory nomination or family member sponsorship, you will then be invited to lodge a visa application.
You may include your partner and dependents in skilled visa applications. All visa applicants must meet the relevant health and character criteria.
