This visa is for people who want to visit Australia for a holiday or recreation, visit family and/or friends, or study for up to three months. This visa may also be used for other short-term non-work purposes including study for less than three months.
This visa is for you if you are outside Australia and want to apply for a visa to visit Australia or in Australia and want to extend your stay as a visitor. The visa will allow you either a single or multiple entries to Australia for the period of the visa.
You can apply outside Australia for an initial period of up to 12 months or a shorter period or in Australia to extend your stay for a total duration of up to 6 months from the date of last entry on your current visa. Note: The period of stay granted will depend on the purpose of the visit and your personal circumstances.

Particular emphasis is given to those at potential risk and those who will assist other young people in a variety of ways eg: teaching and mentoring, and thereby improve their lives and that of others. Assistance is given to young people who choose to step up and reach out in return for a commitment that they will help others in some way in the future. This accords with our philosophy of putting a little back to the global community in an outreach of commitment.
