Contributory Aged Parent Visa (Subclass 864/884)There are two options for aged contributory parents: either a 2-year temporary visa; or permanent residency. The choice that you make will depend upon the contribution that you can afford. These visas are applied for from inside Australia, and are available to the parent(s) of an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen. The parent who applies for this visa must be eligible to be granted the Australian age pension. The sponsoring child must have been resident in Australia for at least 2 years and must sponsor or nominate the parent. An assurance of support will also be required. At least half of the applicant’s children must live in Australia, or the applicant must have more children in Australia than in any other single country. The most compelling factor is that you must pay contributions to the Department of Immigration & Citizenship (DIAC) in order to obtain this visa. The contributions payable will depend upon whether you apply for permanent residency or temporary residency, and are as follows: NOTE THAT THE CONTRIBUTIONS WILL CHANGE FROM TIME TO TIME – PLEASE CHECK WITH US BEFORE APPLYING Contributory Aged Parent Visa (Permanent) Subclass 864 – One Stage Process
OR Contributory Aged Parent Visa (Temporary/Permanent) Subclass 864/884 - Two Stage Process
STAGE TWO - Permanent Visa
There is also an assurance of support required for a permanent contributory aged parent visa. This assurance is refundable to the applicant after 10 years.

Helping You, Helping OTHERS Migration Plus adds value to the community in which it works. At least 5% of our profit goes towards our charitable fund Step Up and Reach Out which assists selected young people from around the world who choose to improve their position in life through education and learning. Particular emphasis is given to those at potential risk and those who will assist other young people in a variety of ways eg: teaching and mentoring, and thereby improve their lives and that of others. Assistance is given to young people who choose to step up and reach out in return for a commitment that they will help others in some way in the future. This accords with our philosophy of putting a little back to the global community in an outreach of commitment. Our partners and clients are of course invited to contribute to this gift deductible fund. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
