The September 457 Working Visa changes effectively disenfranchise many regional employers from being able to use this visa. They also impose OBLIGATIONS and SANCTIONS, another word for penalties, on employers and employees. Good news is that the job list was expanded by a further release on 22nd September. No more Regional Certified 457's though!Students
Students on a pathway to Permanent Residence via the Skilled Independent Streams or the Graduate Skilled Visas may need to replan their longer term strategy. Effectively only those with a career on the Critical Skills List which is now very short! are being processed and others will wait until at least 2013, and the list continues to grow of course. There are some options particularly through the RSMS and ENS pathways but there are traps and prerequisites.We can assist students plan their programs, undertake their enrolment, and build a strategy to meet their ultimate goals. Interesting Cases
Almost daily now we are seeing cases of people who have been coming to Australia regularly for holidays (for example yesterday a client who owns a property here and used to spend 6 months a year visiting and has done so for many years) now being told that they can no longer return to Australia as they are on visitor visas. Retirement Visas requiring at least $500,000 to be put into a Government Bond are not always suitable to people who have their investment in property or other assets that should not be sold whilst values are down. Do we need to rethink this - it has to be resounding YES! Our economy needs their money and our tourism business needs them!- A year from now you may wish you had started today... Karen Lamb

Particular emphasis is given to those at potential risk and those who will assist other young people in a variety of ways eg: teaching and mentoring, and thereby improve their lives and that of others.
