Mateja Rautner
Registered Migration Agent No. 1387375

Mateja holds a Bachelor of Business and International Trade degree and a Graduate Certificate in Australian Migration Law and Practice from Australian National University. She is currently studying Diploma in Law at Legal Profession Admission Board and University of Sydney. Mateja originally migrated to Australia in 1998, and is aware of challenges migrants face in the process of making Australia their new home. She speaks fluent German, Croatian, Serbian, Bosnian, and is conversational in French and some Chinese.

Mateja has also registered to become a recognised NAATI interpreter for Slovene language. Mateja travels frequently to China and Europe and has an extensive experience in International Trade, Finance and Business. She enjoys working with people from all backgrounds and being challenged to find migration solutions for the clients.
Kinga Urban JP(Qual)

Kinga holds a Graduate Certificate in Australian Migration Law & Practice (High Distinction) from the Australian National University, a Bachelor of Education (Hons) and a Bachelor of Economics (Hons). She is a member of the Migration Institute of Australia, the Golden Key International Honours Society (presented to top 15% of students) and is a Justice of the Peace (Qualified) in Queensland.

Kinga has a strong interest in different cultures and customs and speaks English and Hungarian fluently. Her own experience as a migrant provided her a personal experience of the many difficulties and issues that overseas migrants have to face and gave her a special advantage to understand our clients' situations and different cultural backgrounds. She has a strong focus on assisting our clients to achieve the best possible outcome and the most she enjoys is working on complex and challenging cases. Kinga has been working at Migration Plus since 2009.
Claire Barton
Legal Practitioner
Claire has a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours in English and a Bachelor of Laws. Claire is also a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland. Claire joined Migration Plus in March 2011, prior to which she had extensive experience working for the New Zealand government's Immigration and Citizenship departments. As such, she is able to provide a unique perspective on migration matters. Claire is originally from the South Island of New Zealand and enjoys working with people from different cultures and backgrounds. Claire is the main writer of our templates and models, and with her legal and literature background is second to none in this field.
Roberta Dunsmuir

Roberta holds a Bachelor of Business in Human Resources Management from Edith Cowan University and a Graduate Certificate in Australian Migration Law & Practice from the Australian National University. Roberta is originally from Brazil and speaks fluent Portuguese. She migrated to Australia over 14 years ago and has worked for a number of organisations including the SA Government, before joining Migration Plus in 2011. Roberta is highly motivated and adept at identifying solutions that might not be obvious.
Fabiana Palhano JP (Qual)

Fabiana holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Foreign Trade), a Graduate Certificate in Australian Migration Law & Practice from the Australian National University and is a Justice of the Peace (Qualified) in Queensland. She travelled extensively worldwide and has also been through the migration and citizenship process herself in Australia, which enables her to deeply understand cultural differences and concerns about visa applications. Fabiana's creative flair adds another perspective to our practice. Fabiana worked for many years in the educational field in Australia, speaks fluent Portuguese and Spanish, and intermediary German. Fabiana joined Migration Plus in 2012; she has previously worked in our Cairns office and is now based in Europe. She assists clients from all over the world and is a point of contact in the EU area to assist those wanting to visit or migrate to Australia or obtain information in that regard.
Tom Foran

Tom graduated with First Class Honours from the Griffith University Law School and is a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Business Administration) from SFU, in Burnaby, Canada and Graduate Certificate in Chartered Accounting Foundations from Deakin University in Melbourne. Tom loves languages and passed Level One of the Japanese Language Exam. He has a Master Degree in Applied Linguistics from the Japanese campus of Temple University (Philadelphia). He finished a Graduate Diploma in Law at Bond University. As a migrant from Canada, he appreciates the life-changing experience of moving to Australia from a personal perspective and is passionate about being able to help people realise change and improvement of their lives through migration.
Dao Thomsen

Tina Masumi Edwards

Tina has over 20 years Australian government immigration portfolio experience and provides expertise and unique insight to clients from the perspective of a former Departmental decision maker and Executive Officer of the Migration Review Tribunal (MRT) and Refugee Review Tribunal (RRT) (now the Migration and Refugee Division of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. Tina worked at the Department of Immigration office at the Australian Embassy, Japan, and has conducted interviews, assessed and decided applications across the full complement of Australian visas. Since leaving the public sector, Tina has focused her attention on practising as a Registered Migration Agent and helping people achieve their dreams of migrating to, or remaining in, Australia. Amongst other qualifications, Tina holds a Masters in Migration Law and Practice and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Ethics & Legal Studies. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications (UTS Sydney) and has an extensive work history in International Education (Navitas) in the areas of Marketing and Student Services.

Marney has a great love of the Cairns region, and as a former resident is excited about the opportunity to return and make a difference in the community. She is an avid scuba diver, international traveller and is involved in several charitable foundations such as 'Act for Peace' Refugee Ration challenge and Kiva, a microfinance non-profit, which connects people through lending to alleviate poverty. Warren Hamilton

Having lived, worked, and studied as a "foreigner" in multiple countries for over 15 years, and holding three citizenships, Warren understand the life of the expat, migrant, and foreign student from personal experience. Previous roles have included paralegal work, stock market research editor, English teacher, recruitment consultant, and setting up and running a restaurant as a foreign investor, all on a variety of student visas, work permits, and foreign investor visas.

A Melbourne native, Warren grew up in Ireland, went to university in England and Taiwan, and has worked in the UK, Ireland, Taipei, Shanghai. He joined Migration Plus in Cairns in November 2014. Warren graduated from Leeds University with a Bachelor of Laws degree in Law with Chinese Studies, and holds a Graduate Certificate in Australian Migration Law & Practice from the Australian National University. Warren speaks Mandarin and has years of experience working with Chinese-language legal and financial documentation in both Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
Veronica Kyriakou

Veronica is Registered Migration Agent, graduated in Australia Migration Law and Practice from the Australian National University in 2013. Veronica also holds a Bachelor Degree in Sociology from James Cook 2011.

Veronica is fluent in English and Portuguese, has a good understanding of Spanish and limited Italian. As an immigrant herself, Veronica personally understands the frustrations, anxiety and the process of migrating to Australia.

It is gratifying to be able to work with people from many different cultures as she can assist them to understand the complex legal process required for successful applications/submissions. Rebecca has travelled extensively, and has experienced the immigration process herself, having lived in England and Germany for many years before returning home to settle in Byron Bay. Rebecca speaks fluent German and is a member of the Migration Institute of Australia. Rebecca specialises in assisting students and temporary visitors migrate permanently to Australia.
Fiona Ryan

Fiona has over eleven years of migration industry experience. Fiona holds a Certificate in Migration Law through the Migration Institute of Australia and also has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Languages and Applied Linguistics from Griffith University, Brisbane. Fiona has spent 2.5 years living and working in China and Taiwan. Fiona is a member of the Migration Institute of Australia and held the position of Committee Member of the Queensland and Northern Territory State Executive Committee of the Migration Institute of Australia (MIA) from 2009-2010. Fiona has extensive knowledge of Australian immigration law specialising in employer sponsored, family migration and general skilled migration.
Penelope Binotto

Penelope obtained the Graduate Certificate in Migration Practice and Law from the Australian National University and registered as a Migration Agent in 2015. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Japanese and Economics from the University of Queensland, a Graduate Diploma in Japanese Language from the Higashi Nippon International University in Japan and Certificate in Human Resources from Charles Sturt University. She has over 17 years experience in the diplomatic, medical research and tertiary sectors in various Human Resources roles in Australia and Japan, including the role of Human Resources Manager at the Australian Embassy, Tokyo.

Caroline has been assisting clients for over 30 years since working with Dr Chris White as Personal Assistant. Caroline also provides team and client relationship management support and ensures clients receive the highest quality client care. Caroline also focuses on the Education Agent side of the business and dealing with schools, colleges and universities on behalf of the many students we look after.

With experience in both large and small businesses, Dianne provides strong support to our team and also operates our internal accounting and administration systems.
Julie Passe
Migration Assistant

Julie holds two Master's degree in Law from France before migrating to Australia. Julie joined Migration Plus in March 2017 after having held a similar position working for another migration agency. Being a migrant herself, Julie understands the complexities of the migration process and is very keen to assist clients with initial enquiries. Julie can speak French and English fluently and enjoys looking after all our clients from diversified backgrounds.

Registration and regulatory information

Migration Plus is a long established, Australian based privately owned independent immigration consultancy with a team of highly skilled OMARA Registered Migration Agents who represent our clients from around the world.  Migration Plus provides fee-based services in addition to the official Government application fees and disbursements to advise, assist and represent our clients through the complex visa application process.

All decisions for granting of a visa remain with the Australian Government, subject to lodging a valid application using the forms or electronic lodgement systems available on the Government website and meeting the relevant criteria. Migration Plus is not affiliated with the Australian Government.  We act independently in assisting and representing our clients interests, we advocate for our clients. The Australian Government registers Migration Agents – all our Agents are registered under that system.  We are also licensed to provide Continuing Professional Development to Migration Agents and we belong to the Migration Institute of Australia.  We take great pride and offer exceptional professionalism in helping you achieve your immigration goal.
